I believe we all have the ability to heal ourselves – it’s just finding the way to do it.
My vocation is being a counsellor, but I am also a mother, step-mother, grandmother, slave to a fur baby and previously a foster mother. I have volunteered at different levels within a local hospice, primary schools, secondary schools and with male and female survivors of abuse and sexual violence.
The extensive counselling experience I have gained comes from working within charity settings, education (students and staff) and private practice. My work is with both male and female clients of all ages (16yrs +) who come presenting issues that can cause them emotional pain and distress, uncertainty and self-doubt or harbour a feeling of something holding them back in life – not living life to the full. Some times shame and guilt can be distressing and an all consuming painful emotion which left unchecked can cause mental and physical anguish.
Working face to face in the clients home and also by offering online sessions can add an element of convenience and flexibility for clients. I am a Registered Member of BACP, a professional association for members of the counselling profession in the UK. By being a member I am bound by an Ethical Framework which offers commitment to clients, ethical standards and boundaries plus guidance on good practice
