I believe we all have the ability to heal ourselves – it’s just finding the way to do it.
My vocation is being a counsellor, but I am also a mother and a slave to a fur baby. Grantham has been my home for most of my life – I always come back. Being a counsellor came to me after I had experienced a lot in life – some good and some not so good and the valuable lessons I learned from real life has given me an accepting, varied and understanding outlook to underpin my counselling.
The extensive counselling experience I have gained comes from working various settings including a local sexual abuse charity, education (students and staff), hospital staff and hospice patients, clinical work and private practice. My work is with both male and female clients of all ages (16yrs +) who come presenting issues that can cause them emotional pain and distress, uncertainty and self-doubt or harbour a feeling of something holding them back in life – not living life to the full. Some times shame and guilt can be distressing and an all consuming painful emotion which left unchecked can cause mental and physical anguish.
Working face to face in in an office setting and also by offering online sessions can add an element of convenience and flexibility for clients. I am an Accredited Registrant of the National Counselling Society which is a professional association for members of the counselling profession in the UK. By being a member I am bound by an Ethical Framework which offers commitment to clients, ethical standards and boundaries plus guidance on good practice
